Check this frightening post by Alan Reiter. Apple wants your stuff to spy on you.

Apple's 'Terrorware' Patent Could Turn 2010 Into 1984

Forget about Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL)’s announcements of the new Apple TV, iPods, and Ping. It's kid stuff compared to what Apple has in store for you.

Apple wants to turn your devices into spies that can surreptitiously
photograph you, examine your voice, analyze your transportation, and
record your heartbeat.

Of course, it's for your own good.

All this goodness is in Apple's patent application, “Systems and Methods for Identifying Unauthorized Users of an Electronic Device.”
Apple made sure to italicize and boldface "unauthorized" throughout the
application. Goodness, gracious -- how could anyone think the patent
would be used against authorized users?!
